I still can't believe McCain selected Palin and the more I get to know her, the more I feel that way. I think it will ultimately be remembered as the biggest mistake of his life and it may very well be the factor that causes him to lose the presidency. Palin's interview with Couric this week certainly validated the McCain camp's strategy of keeping her out of the public eye. She simply can't talk to the press. It turns out that while Palin is unmistakably capable of giving a good speech, she's a deer in the headlights when it comes to actual policy. She clearly has no idea what's going on in the world or what's going on with the economy. Her answers to questions on the bail-out and her foreign policy credentials were so uninformed they at times crossed into absurdity. I can't emphasize that last point enough.
