Why doesn't anyone question this? Why don't any of you religous people out there question why the church has $600M extra dollars lying around in property, artwork and bank accounts? God lives a lavish lifestyle...
Churches are about following God's word and preaching God's word. They do much community and social service with the money donated. But it takes parishioners to provide the needed money for those services. Parishioners require a place of worship and facilities to hold meetings and headquarter their groups. It is not all about donating money to the poor. Setting up programs to support the poor getting themselves out of their situaton is far more effective than handing over money to be someone who probably does not know how to mange it anyway
