Goodbye Steve Irwin
I'm really sorry to see that Steve Irwin died. If nothing else, he was a genuine role model for people. He's was a good, hard working and enthusiastic family man who risked everything to pursue his dreams.

Even though I personally thought he was a little over the top sometimes, I appreciated his body of work and what he was able to accomplish in 44 years. In fact, I haven't felt this badly about a famous personality dying since JFK Jr. or Dianna.

And then there's the totally freak way it happened. How very very odd life is. Expected in many ways and then yet nearly unfathomable in manner when it finally happened. I mean, lets face it - Steve did some risky things but I never really thought he'd eventually run out of luck this way.

Well, goodbye Steve. Overall, you seemed like a nice enough guy.

I completely agree. He was a great man. He will surely be missed by many. It actually brought tears to my eyes in hearing that he died.

Rest in Peace Steve Overall...

It totally shocked me to hear the news. How very sad for the world...and especially his family. He did many, many great things. I've never seen anyone who genuinely loved animals as much as he did.

hahahahaha Will you please correct that for me. :| I meant Steve Irwin... :/ I was looking at yours when I wrote that because I did not know his last name.

Thanks so much, Natalie

BTW- I googled Steve Overall, that is how I realized my mistake. This Steve seems to be in fine health. lol

I was stunned when i had received the news in my email about his death. My father started me watching his show around 10 years ago and i'd been watching him on and off since. It was definately a shock and he will be missed.

It should never be a shock when someone who works with dangerous creatures gets killed by them. They risk their lives every day because animals are so unpredictable.

Swimming avove a ray like that probably startled the creature or angered it and it simply flicked its tail in warning or to drive what ir saw as a predator away.

It is being overblown as a tragidy in my view. When you live as he did it can happen just that quickly, and it did.

He was a great joy to watch and very educational. A bit crazy for my taste today though.

I watched his first show, his second show, and I was hooked on it because I thought he and his wife were crazy.LOL

I still believe you have to be a bit crazy to do what he did. But he will be missed.
